Overlee Preschool - A Parent-Run Cooperative Since 1945

Overlee’s Reponse to COVID-19

We made several adjustments to our normal procedures to keep our staff and children safe during the 2020-2021 school year, we intend to follow the same procedures for the 2021-2022 school year. Our classes are held entirely outdoors and make full use of our fantastic playground and surrounding area to provide our children a safe place to learn and play. All staff and parents are required to be vaccinated, and everyone including children, must wear masks while on school grounds, and complete a health check prior to school each day.

A Parent Cooperative Pre-School

Established in 1945, Overlee seeks to provide a stimulating and happy environment that will help children learn to respect themselves; to respect the feelings, ideas, and rights of others; to make choices, resolve conflicts, and solve problems; and to explore new ways of doing things – with the belief that this will help each child develop as a confident, whole individual. The school respects each child as a unique individual and has planned a program that helps every member of the class develop at his/her own rate – socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually.

Parent Participation

We are a Parent Cooperative (Co-op) and parent participation is the cornerstone of our school.  Parents take ownership at Overlee, working in the classroom and at school events.  Membership is a family experience.  We share aims, benefits, and responsibilities.

Play-Based Learning

For over seventy years we have carried on a tradition of play based learning.  We have adapted a forward-thinking, comprehensive, research-based and research-proven curriculum that makes learning exciting and relevant for every child.

Our admissions process begins with the online application.  We have our annual open house in January where you will get a chance to meet other parents.  After that, a group playdate visit is scheduled.

Overlee Preschool is currently accepting applications. Learn more and apply online in our Admissions Section.
